Disney + will be released in Italy on 31 March 2020, it's official. The House of Mickey Mouse has revealed it through the Twitter profile of the platform, where it can be read that the service will be available the same day also in Germany, France and Spain and the United Kingdom.
More than four and a half months later, in short, compared to the US release, scheduled for next week (12 November). More than anyone expected that Disney + would see the light in the Bel Paese already next January, but the company preferred to wait until the end of the first quarter of 2020 to launch it in Europe.
There are many contents that Disney fans are looking forward to enjoying on the platform, from the live-action remake of Lilli and the Wanderer to the Star Wars TV series, The Mandalorian. The library of titles available in the service is absolutely vast and includes since the launch all the Animation Classics, as well as a flood of less known contents that the enthusiasts could appreciate. Last month the company revealed, via Twitter, all the titles that will be available at the time of the launch in the United States, a very long list.
It will be interesting to see how the service will perform at launch: on the other hand it is part of a market, that of video streaming, particularly saturated and full of alternatives for the public. Just think of Netflix, the platform with the most users in the world, or even Amazon's Prime Video, which has slowly enriched its catalog with interesting content and many original productions. So Disney + does not have a simple path in front of it, but it is also true that in addition to its own content, the platform will be able to count on the Marvel, Pixar and Star Wars franchises.
